He is the grandson of Jimmy McHugh and will talk about “I Feel a Song Coming On: The Life of Jimmy McHugh” by Alyn Shipton. {University of Illinois Press} Jimmy McHugh is the creator of favorites such as “I’m In the Mood For Love” and “On the Sunny Side of the Street.” This is the first part of the interview. The focus is mainly on his grandfather and how “I’m In the Mood For Love” came about.

Last sunday night, the Jimmy McHugh family joined Helen Borgers in celebrating her 30th anniversary  with 88.1 FM K-Jazz. The sold out event at the Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles included performances by a stage full of many great jazz legends including Kenny Burrell, Bill Henderson, and John Clayton.
